petty thievery…
i have always prided myself on being non-territorial (and endorsing innocent petty thievery) and i am always willing to give or share whatever i may have in my possession with others. i don’t really care much for material things and i think attachment to material things is generally not the best plan. having said that, if i’m going to share something, especially with someone who i’m not that close with, i would at least like to know about it.
post-cleanse i’ve had to come to terms with the fact that i’m mildly allergic to dairy aka lactose intolerant. that did not keep me from consumming it in mass quantities this weekend and i will continue to do so whenever really good dairy products show up on my plate, but i have decided that on a daily basis i need to scale back my dairy intake. having made that decision i purchased some soy milk to keep at work as a substitute for rich, delicious, and fatty half and half.
there is officially an office thief because someone keeps stealing and drinking my soy milk! i would be more than happy to share it, especially since i adore the majority of my co-workers, but there are a few questionable individuals who clearly have bad manners and i don’t like people who have bad manners so i’m not psyched to share with them.
my boss and i have narrowed it down to two potential suspects. there is a member of a group i shall refer to as WOG and i think it is him and he is out this week so i will know if it is not him depending on whether or not the soy milk continues to disappear. my boss has another theory that i shall refer to as the “entitlement theory.” my boss believes that one of the semi-retired partners who sits on our floor might be drinking the soy milk, and not feeling badly about it because he owns the place and therfore owns everyone and everything in the building-sort of like the feudal system.
i can get behind this theory absent the fact that i don’t think these old white dudes know what soy milk is, but i fully intend to have the mystery solved by the end of this week (or tomorrow since i leave town on tuesday).
i really just don’t like people who have bad manners. its so not cool.
